FAQ for Wamego Recreation Sports Complex in Wamego Kansas:
Great fireworks display every year, and the fact people go out and do clean up the day after is awesome. Also, not sure if the new area for port-a-potty set up is smart or not, there was quite a bit of congestion on the walk out, but that’s usually to be expected for right after the display. Great place for a walk, play tennis, or watch a game during the season.
Great facilities, but city crews need to replace several light bulbs at the tennis courts.
The bathrooms amd concessions are way to far from the ball fields there was not enough soap to wash your hands and the toilets don’t flush also the score boards were not on at the softball tournament I was at for I what the teams pay they could at least have those on
These fields are so bad that calling them a “Sandlot” would be a disservice to Sandlots. These are the fields that the local high school plays on, unfortunately. If you have to play here don’t plan on sliding and bring a mouthpiece because there’s a high probability you’ll get a bad hop off the gravel road infields.
Very big park with plenty of sport facilities, the most notable of course being the four baseball diamonds. There is a paved trail around the park. The full loop is a little under a mile and includes a story-walk for the younger children. There are tennis courts and soccer fields also.
