The path is beautiful minus the garbage at the entrance. Also be careful – there are multiple people living inside the woods near the path. Loud music , tents and the wafting smell of alcohol definitely destroys the possibile tranquility of any walk
We had a good little hike here. We read reviews with mixed tones but were looking to use some time before we were expected someplace and were quickly satisfied to find this little gem.
Settled close to town and easy to find, this trail is a “make your own experience. ” All the offshoots of the trail can increase the interest or by staying on trail it can be mellow.
We caught a bit of the disc golf course which simply added more interest and challenge even though we don’t play.
The ONLY reason I did not give a 5 star is because of the trash people leave behind either by visitors or transients. Haul it in, haul it out and leave land better than you found it.
Seems like it would be a great local trail if not for a few red flags:
-The main entrance was riddled with trash and flies.
-seemed like people were living there, and for a singular woman hiker I didn’t feel super safe.
-it was smelly is a few places due to the trash
Beautiful and refreshing hike. Old grown mossy trees grounded with ferns and different kinds of fungus. The trail leads to a disk golf course. I wish there is a trail map at the head.
It’s close by. Easy to walk. ( I have a broken foot and could walk with my boot and crutch just fine) It is pretty and short. Maybe 25ish minutes give or take. The only downside is lots of little homeless camps set up through the area. Trash is left behind by the homeless as well. So it can be a little sketchy. I had my husband with me, so I wasn’t too worried, but probably not a place to walk alone, especially if female.
