Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Wadsworth Village Park is a well-loved green space in Wadsworth, Illinois, that caters to families, children, and their four-legged friends. Visitors appreciate the park’s clean design and the use of AstroTurf, which creates a modern play experience. With distinct zones for different age groups, the park welcomes families with kids of all ages and provides a safe environment for everyone to play and explore. A large open field, paved walking paths (three laps makes a mile), and a hill popular for sledding in the winter make this park unique and enjoyable year-round.
While the park doesn’t focus exclusively on dogs, it’s a pet-friendly spot with wide open fields and walking paths that pup parents enjoy. Amenities like a gazebo with a grill, playgrounds, sports courts, and seating ensure comfort for human guests. Shade is somewhat limited (small gazebo and several trees), and there are no restrooms near the playground. The park is clean, offers plenty of recreational options, and is an excellent spot for dog owners seeking outdoor activity in Lake County, Illinois.
Great park for toddlers and a 3 laps around the park is 1 mile.

My nieces had a great time. They had several different areas, a nice swing set, and places to spin.

Love how this little park has books for the kids to read, really clean, and all ages friendly. Also it’s nice they turf on the playground.

Great park! It is AstroTurf which felt a bit weird at first. I love that it has the three different sets for the different age groups. That way I can bring my youngest and my oldest and they all get to have fun. There’s also a really nice walking path, a gazebo that has a grill, tennis basketball courts, baseball field and just a giant field for the kids to run around in. The only thing is if you’re using Google maps, it’s going to take you to park in a place you’re not supposed to park.
The only really only 2 downsides to this park. One is that there’s not a lot of shade covering for the playground. There’s only one small gazebo and there are a couple trees around the playground. The other thing is that there is no restroom(at least nowhere near the playground if there is one) so make sure you go before. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody with looking to just get outside as it has so much to offer!
