Beautiful spot for sunset. Here’s the deal, it’s a town of Riverhead property, because it is located within the township of Riverhead. If you look up zoning maps of Long Island, you will find that most of Wading River is within Riverhead, and some areas are within Brookhaven. The residents of Riverhead Township have residency rights to the area because they contribute to those town taxes. So if you live in ridge, you are in the town of Brookhaven, doesn’t matter if across the street is wading River, your taxes have nothing to do with that beach.

Very cute, peaceful beach. You need to wear water shoes since it is so rocky.
This is a rocky beach. there is a little sand but at low tide you had to walk on a lot of rocks to get to the water. It’s on the sound side so waves didn’t really exist. The swim area is very small. The sunset was pretty. The beach area was clean, free of litter. It was a nice stop.
