Great trails, perfect for a family stroll. Plenty of parking and nearby restrooms.
Nice small loop at White Tank Mountain. Black Rock short loop is the easiest trail here at White Tanks. With the option to do the moderate rated Black Rock Long loop, which is 1.3 miles.
Park at Area #4 to access this trail head.
Love White Tanks. Something for everyone.
This was a fun hike out to the petroglyphs and the “waterfall” it wasn’t flowing at this time but there was a small pool of water. The rocks and trails are pretty easy to hike and scenery was gorgeous!
Always a great trail of short on time, but still want to get a quick work out on. Easy trail with both a short or longer version. If you take the long loop you’re looking at about 1.4 mines round trip. If you pay close attention you’ll spot some petroglyphs. If you wanted to extend this trail even longer it does connect to the waterfall trail. All trails in the White Tanks are marked very well. Area is clean and has benches along most of the trail if you wanted to enjoy the views for a bit. There are paved lots nearby with plenty of space and clean and well kept bathrooms and picnic areas. Please take out what you bring in. There is a lot of wild life here including coyotes etc.
Super great family friendly hike to the waterfall. There was actually no waterfall but two ponds at the end. I have done this hike twice and my 4 year olds do just fine if they have water. The 2 and under needs to be carried eventually. Great park with bathrooms and pavilion at the trail head. It cost NULL to get into the park. Lots of fun Arizona native plants, animals and cactus 🌵 to see.
