Located in the heart of Virginia Beach, Woodstock Cove Park is a neighborhood favorite offering a blend of scenic water views, open fields, and pet-friendly trails. This peaceful park is nestled along the Elizabeth River, giving visitors and their four-legged companions plenty of space for daily walks, leisurely runs, or simply unwinding under the trees. The park is spacious, rarely crowded, and known for its serene atmosphere—making it a wonderful spot for social distancing and safe outdoor fun for locals and their dogs.
The park features walking or running paths, ample grassy areas for exercise or flying kites, and picnic tables and benches perfect for resting or enjoying a snack. While primarily designed for baseball games, Woodstock Cove Park also includes a playground, covered picnic area, and scenic waterfront access, giving dog owners plenty of opportunities for family outings. Do note that while there is a temporary dog pen, it lacks shade and water fountains—owners should come prepared, especially in the warmer months. Limited on-street parking is available, and the park is close to Town Center and Mt Trashmore, making it easy to access from main roads.
Pretty cool place. Went to try to do some fishing. Banks are grown up. Don’t really think it’s fished much. Other then that seemed nice
The park is a secret gym! Peaceful and quiet for a stroll along the water.
Lots of wildlife to be seen both on land and, of course, in and on the water!!
Beautiful, quaint little park. Bit of a walk to get there, and no real parking to speak of, but it’s quite lovely and has access to the Elizabeth River. Can’t wait to drop a line in here!
It’s a long walk to the park in the back, and parking is limited on the street – BUT this amazing park is worth the effort! The playground itself has something for everyone and there’s plenty of wide open spaces for running! The park is surrounded by water which feeds from the Elizabeth River, so bring your fishing pole!
For a picnic there’s also a covered multi table area. Enjoy!
Great place to relax and enjoy the nice weather!
