Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
If you're searching for a welcoming dog park in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Vestavia Hills Dog Park offers a great open space for your pet to socialize and exercise. The park features a grassy area with sloping hills—perfect for pups with energy to burn. Visitors love that there are separate areas for small and large dogs, helping to provide a safe experience for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Many locals note how peaceful the park feels, making it a favorite for owners wanting their dogs to play in a secure, friendly environment.
Accessibility is a highlight, with wheelchair-friendly parking and easy entry. While the park is usually quiet, it’s worth noting it can get slippery when wet, and there is a documented gap near the fence bottom, so extra vigilance may be needed for escape-artist dogs. Overall, this pet-friendly park is a beloved spot in the community for dog-loving families, with friendly visitors and plenty of room to roam right in Vestavia Hills!
Ankle twisting slop, would not go when grass is wet or dewy.
Very small, went multiple times no other dogs visit
Almost perfect. I enjoyed going here with my dog for a bit. However, there is a small gap near the bottom right of the fence where the water drains outside the park and the fence does not meet the ground. There are rocks and a flimsy extension of the fence to try to block it off but it simply is not enough.
My dog is an escape artist and she has slipped under that gap one to many times for us to return. The only way we can visit is if I stand in front of the gap the entire time that we are there.
If this was fixed than I would be here regularly as it is a great park and the nicest people and their pets go here.
My dog had so much fun and was tons of space for him to run around
We love it here! Two different areas for dogs that want to play and those who don’t. There is grass in both and the hills help my dog exercise more. She always leaves tired and happy!!
Love the fact that this dog park has a separate area for smaller dogs! My biggest Pet Peeve is when the huge dogs end up making my pup a dirty mess. It just opened too so I was able to go and have the entire park for my pup to run around.
