Lee Creek Park, located along the banks of the Arkansas River in Van Buren, is a tranquil and picturesque destination for dog owners and nature lovers. Known for its calm waters, views of the railroad bridge, and abundant wildlife—including flocks of geese—this park is perfect for those seeking peace and a rural touch just outside city life. Many visitors enjoy activities like birdwatching, picnicking, and strolling along the riverbank, making it a pet-friendly escape from the hustle and bustle.
Although Lee Creek Park isn’t exclusively a dog park, it offers pet-friendly trails where you can walk your dog while enjoying scenic river views and the sights and sounds of nature. It’s a great spot for leashed walks with your furry friend, and there are relaxing picnic areas, ample parking, and plenty of shade from mature trees. Don’t miss the opportunity to see Arkansas lightning bugs at dusk or take striking photos with the river as your backdrop.
I would give a better rating but it’s flooded right now.
Beautiful place!! Great place to view the river and railroad bridge. Also a nice place to view lightening bugs right before dark… Lots of wonderful wildlife as well.
So beautuful, and remembering this park how it once was.
There’s a whole bunch of birds, geese I think. Definitely not ducks. Anyway, bring your bread and feed them they are hungry. It’s pretty relaxing and the water is very calm under the bridge which gives a nice view as well of nature. Great safe place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Such a beautiful place for an Arkansas River elopement. I enjoyed photographing this sweet little wedding so much at such a lovely place in Van Buren Arkansas!
