Beautiful park…but you have to live in Long Island or because I live in Queens my Mister Crylixx and myself was DENIED membership…thats horrible! My salon is located in Valley Stream, my son attends HS in Valley Stream…but my doggy cant enjoy the DOG PARK? Do better Long Island! Shameful…if the membership is paid…I should be able to bring my puppy to a DOG PARK. Very very sad…hope someone fixes that horrendous rule.
One of the better dog park facilities on the South Shore. Separate areas for large and small dogs. Large area for dogs to run and socialize. Must be a Valley Stream resident and pay an annual fee. Watering Stations and Waste Disposal Units on site. Pool available for large dogs to splash in during hot summer days.
My 90 lbs golden loves this place, he always has a ton of fun when we visit the dog park. The security is great as you need to use a magnetic computerized key-fob to enter the play area. Once inside, you unleash your best friend and let them run free with other dogs. The plastic turf almost looks like real grass and water spiggets are on (most of the times) for your use. [Although we bring water and doggie snacks from home]. Remember to pick up after your own dog… disposable bags can be found in several areas for free hanging on the chain link fence. We even made some friends with other dog owners!! 🙂
This place is honestly awful. The people here have absolutely NO courtesy. Every time I’ve gone there, owners just seem to forget they have a dog at all, so when they act up, of course, it’s hard to figure out who the hell the dog belongs to. My dog was a pup when I first brought him in. 5 dogs crowded him into a corner, I guess out of curiosity of who was the new guy. One dog however, was barking like crazy at him, scaring him, so I picked him up, walked to another area and hoped it was over. Then that dog comes back to start barking at my dog again, I say out loud “Anyone the owner here????” The owner didn’t show up until like 5 mins later and at that point I was like “really?” My god, how rude is that. Honestly, so beyond obnoxious. Don’t waste your time.
I bring my pit bull here every weekend. It is a great park. You need to have a membership and a key to get in. They have great hours and most of the members are really good with making sure that their dogs behave well with other dogs. They have a small dog section and a large dog section. They provide water bowls, poop bags and even a pool which can be emptied out if you do not want your dog to get wet. So with so many great things why 4 Stars, there have been incidents at this park, like dogs biting other dogs and even humans, so please just always watch your dog.
