Now that the days are longer and evenings are mild, I love walking the Vallejo waterfront after dinner!
If you include River Park in your walk(pass under the Tennessee St. bridge at the North end of the boardwalk)you can get 4 miles in.
On this walk you get Vallejo’s best sunset view, and as the lights come on along both sides of the riverbank it’s like walking in a postcard!
Usually, when I walk in my neighborhood I carry plastic bags and a reacher to pick up trash. On the waterfront I rarely see trash(except under the Tennessee Street bridge)so I’ve stopped bringing my gear.
Kite fliers, kids learning to ride bikes, dog walkers, fishermen – these are the people I share my walks with and I’m grateful for the sense of community along the waterfront in the evening.
