🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Pioneer Dog Park is a well-maintained dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. It offers wheelchair accessible entrance and parking, public restrooms, and some seating options including benches and a drinking fountain. The park has ample parking and provides dog waste bags, though some visitors note a shortage of shaded areas and limited dog play equipment. The park requires a paid annual membership to access, and while it is fenced, it has a basic setup with no covered shelters or swim area.
Requires a NULL-35 annual fee and key fob. That’s just as expensive as the stoney creek Metro Park pass which has a great dog park and is only 10 min away. No shade, no tables, a single bench per area. Better to have just left it as open field.
This dog park is okay, pretty basic. It is not open to the public, but sometimes you can get in if the gate is left open. Not much but fenced-in open space for the dogs to run in. Needs more dog play options and more people seating options. A couple of trees would be nice, too. There is one bench and a drinking fountain on each side, small dog and large dog sides. Gets very muddy when wet.
I appreciate we have access to the park. Most dogs are pretty well behaved and the ones that aren’t do get some community correction…. the problem is: absolutely zero shaded area making it almost unusable from 9AM to 7PM all summer. The mosquitos are also overwhelming. The parents from a football team take up all the parking as well. Sure, it’s only 30 dollars a year but it’s severely lacking in offerings. It’s basically a fenced field of super hard clay/rock with clumps of weeds and grass. Needs to be kept up better.
Plant some grass seed, get some shelter, rotate big and small park usage to keep dogs on grass instead of concrete like surface.
Nice size park with large area for big dogs.
People don’t clean up after their dogs much . Not the parks fault. There’s plenty of bags. But plenty of lazy owners too.
Very well kept park. Plenty of parking, some nice picnic benches and several clean and modern bathrooms. Good jumping point to many trails.
