Bear Creek Hot Springs Trailhead Dog Park – Idaho

Bear Creek Hot Springs Trailhead is a scenic destination for both outdoor enthusiasts and dog lovers in Idaho. This popular spot boasts picturesque pet-friendly trails, dog-friendly hiking paths, and lush meadows, making it a local favorite for letting dogs run, play, and explore. The park offers open fields for ball games, riverfront access for dogs who enjoy swimming, and a beautiful loop trail with stunning views and opportunities to spot wildlife.

What makes Bear Creek Hot Springs unique among dog parks in the US, Idaho region is the combination of natural beauty and freedom for dogs to exercise, swim, and socialize with other pups. While the park has conveniences like poop bag stations and trash bins, owners should be cautious near the water, especially as the front fencing doesn’t prevent adventurous dogs from wading out and potentially escaping. Trails, river walks, and plenty of space ensure dogs can let out their zoomies in a relatively safe, semi-contained space.

Beautiful place to just climb and climb. The downhill coming back is pretty fun, too. Avoid the creek crossings if you can. Your drivetrain will thank you for it.

Really beautiful to see the fall colors, but can be a little difficult. Our dogs loved the creek!

Amazing 6 mile bike ride, followed by a 2 mile climb up a mountain. But once you get to the hotsprings it is so worth it! The springs are nice and warm, and saw almost nobody out on the trails.

I took part in another spiritual ritual in this place. It was beautiful and perfect in every way. I prayed and I meditated throughout the day and wandered through a lush meadow with grass as tall as me, contemplating and pondering for about twelve hours. This is my psychological, emotional, and spiritual retreat. Eventually, I came too near to a bear and some moose. This was a break to my prayer, so I wandered back to my camp and ended my fast. Then, I reflected upon the day and gave my woes to God, the creator, thanking him for having the power to take away the pollution in my soul and for gracing me with the experience. I love this place. 😇
I would like to thank the people who create and maintain these places for us to enjoy.

A beautiful wildflower walk along the creek. We’ll be back!

We had initially set out to visit the hot springs, but left too late in the day, and in addition to nightfall, the muddy paths also deterred us from continuing the full 6.8 miles in to find them. Another day…or two!
