Urbana Dog Park (Private/Members Only)

Urbana Dog Park is a private, members-only dog park that offers a spacious and clean environment with two distinct areas – one for smaller dogs and one large open space for bigger dogs. It features amenities like water pumps with buckets, dog bag stations, and mature trees providing shade. The park is wheelchair accessible and good for kids. Access requires a key fob membership, making it a secure environment, but the park can get muddy after rain and has a mix of dog socialization levels among visitors.

this is a members only park, so you do need a fob to get in.
this park is huge, there’s a lot of free space for dogs to run around and play in. that being said, not everydog I encounter here is well socialized. I’ve had to pull some dogs off of mine for playing too rough or ganging up on my dog.
the park gets really muddy and several large puddles form after it rains.
The Urbana Dog Park is wonderful! I love coming here with my dog. The facilities are wonderful. There are two parts of this park. One is a smaller, sectioned off area that is designated for smaller dogs or for dogs that need a smaller area. It includes one dog bag station and a water pump and bucket. The other part of the dog park is huge. There are large patches of tall grass for dogs to frolic through, many large, mature trees in the middle of the park to provide shade, two dog bag stations, and multiple buckets available to fill with water from the second water pump. Generally speaking, the participants of the dog park are well meaning and kind to each other. There are some dogs that don’t belong at the dog park, but that is not the fault of the dog park. Although I have never seen an official employee of the park district at the dog park, the participants do quite a good job at maintaining the facilities and each other. I recommend coming here with you dog, but beware during peak hours!
Genuinely angry when I arrived here. Long distance traveling with my dog – who is not a fan of car rides so I plan my road trips from dog park to dog park for him. We have been through many states and almost everytime it will say “(members only)” or “private” in the name of the dog park on maps. Not only does this one not have that, it outright says in the description that it is a “open public space”. IT IS NOT!!!!!
Though not listed on Google, this is a private dog park. You need a key fob to enter. A waste of time and distressing for my dog.
It’s a very nice place to be with the dogs. It’s spacious, there are two areas, and it’s clean. It was Luna’s first time.
