Weehawken & Union City Reservoir Park is a quiet, well-maintained green space popular with locals for running, walking, and soaking in panoramic Manhattan skyline views. Located conveniently between Union City and Weehawken, this park features a scenic loop walkway (approx. 0.5 miles) around the reservoir—ideal for pet-friendly strolls and light exercise. The peaceful environment makes it a favorite spot for those seeking relaxation and a connection with nature, including sightings of ducks, geese, and turtles.
While this location is perfect for walkers and runners, it’s important to note that dogs are not allowed in the park at this time, so it is not a traditional dog park. Amenities include benches for seating, well-paved accessible paths, street parking, and beautiful city vistas, but there are no water fountains or public restrooms available. Perfect for neighborhood residents looking for a serene, safe place for exercise with views of New York City!
Peaceful place to sit and relax, go for a walk or run. Usually not busy. Kept clean. You can see geese, turtles sun bathing and seagulls. Local community quite and safe.
Nice and clean place to walk. The place is very well maintained. Good place to go for a run/jog/walk. This park is being shared by both union city and weehawken. Excellent location and even has parking around the park for the residents. Has good views of the newyork city from here.
Good place for a short walk in the neighborhood with a nice view. Although it’s a boring walk that I never take since I can’t bring my dog. Would be better if you could and if it had a public restroom.
Nice walking path around a reservoir. It it 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile according to different online sources. It’s not very crowded in the mornings. The walk way goes one way around the reservoir. You can see the city in the background and some ducks and geese in the foreground. There are some benches along the path. If you use the benches there’s not much to see as the trees in front of them are overgrown. There is street parking and only one entrance. There are no stairs so it’s wheel chair and stroller accessible. It’s a beautiful and calming place for a nice walk.
This is my favorite spot to run in my neighborhood! It is not exactly a park, more a walk/run track built around the reservoir. It is a 0.8km (half a mile) loop, with several people going there for relaxing, fun or sports. The view of Manhattan is awesome! The place could benefit from having drinking water and a restroom. Anyway, it is good enough.
