Went here for a small family party.
The park does charge NULL/car for a parking day pass and NULL for a seasonal pass. The fee is well worth it. The park is very clean, including the bathrooms. They have a couple of wooden push carts to help you bring things like your cooler and chairs to the spot of your choice. They are very handy and work great as long as everyone remembers to return them as soon as they’re done with them.
The lake was lovely on the day that we went. Many families were swinging and enjoying themselves too. There is a large beach area that allows everyone to have plenty of space, as well as a kids’ playground. There is a store in the park as well. It has many useful items for purchase; like sunscreen, goggles, beach toys, etc. They also sell a variety of snacks including Hudsonville Ice Cream.
There are 3 or 4 pavilions you can rent for parties and such. They also have quite a few other uncovered spots with grills and picnic tables that you can use for free under the trees. We had a smaller party so we opted for that option.
Overall a very nice park to visit for a day of fun in the sun with the family.
Disappointed. Used to love coming to this beach. There was goose poop everywhere, It was gross, I understand you may not be able to get it all but it was like they aren’t even trying.
My go to to bring my kids in the summer. Nice park friendly staff. Good swimming area. Plus a playground, picnic tables, grills. I like that there are separate changing rooms from the bathroom. Could be updated a little better lighting maybe. But I love the little store located in the center of the park it has just about anything you may possibly have forgotten if you plan to spend the day there!
My first time visiting; I really enjoyed this little park. There is an ice cream shop on-grounds, along with a little store, changing rooms, bathrooms, plenty of trash cans, and more picnic tables than I’ve ever seen at a park in my entire life. I would consider this park a perfect place for families, as there is a cute playground, and as I mentioned before, there are enough picnic tables really for any family that needs to use one (probably about 40 tables). The store sells food and beach items, and is extremely reasonably priced. The public beach is large enough for families to spread out, as is the swimming area. The sand does not have too many shells, where it would be uncomfortable to walk on. The water is clear and clean. A day-pass for parking is only NULL, and parking is near to the beach. Plenty of shady areas and a couple of gazebos, as well. The only downsides are that no dogs are allowed on the beach, no alcohol, and you cannot build a fire. Unfortunately, that is common for most public beaches. Still quite a charming little lake park.
This beach is never busy, plenty of parking, warm/shallow water, great playground and ice cream.
