If you’re searching for pet-friendly trails near Turtletown, Tennessee, Brush Creek Trailhead is a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts and their dogs. This scenic location offers a well-maintained, out-and-back mountain biking and hiking trail through Tennessee’s lush landscape, making it the perfect place for a dog-friendly hike. The trail is popular for its flowy, non-technical paths that run well in both directions, giving you and your furry friend options for your walk or ride.
While there isn’t a dedicated dog park or off-leash area, dogs are allowed on the trail on a leash, and the environment is generally peaceful and uncrowded, especially on weekdays. Along your walk, you’ll find beautiful sights including butterflies, wildflowers, ferns, and the occasional deer—nature experiences that both you and your dog will enjoy. The trailhead is also suitable for families with kids and has parking available, though the lot is next to a busy highway, so caution is advised.

Hiking trails right off the highway
Parking area is a little sketchy because it’s by such a busy highway
Not too impressed with the parking area so just a warning
I’ve been on this trail before and I have a mountain bike to but I’ve hiked it
Not very scenic at all and for me it’s just kind of whole hohum

Go out of my way and do
If you’re looking for a beautiful walk in the woods, this is a good choice. Be wary of bikes as the trail is narrow and used more by bikers than hikers. There were plenty of butterflies, wildflowers, ferns, and even a few deer out there today!
Beautiful trail really flowy great for mountain bike. Nice views along way
A fun flowy mountain bike trail with no steep climbs. Runs well in either direction. I did as a 13 mile ride from east to west then back east. Parking on east side is on busy highway so next time would probably start at west end. Had trail totally to myself for two hours on a Monday. Has some rocky sections near west end but for most part is not technical. Trail looked well maintained with no debris or overgrowth. Definitely recommend.
Lots of brush on trails. Paths were clearly marked but the the bugs were out today.
