The park’s expansive area provides ample space for dogs to run and play off-leash, making it a favorite among local dog owners seeking pet-friendly outdoor activities in Tucson.
While Jacobs Dog Park features seating areas, benches, and playgrounds nearby, visitors should be aware that maintenance can vary, with reports of uneven grounds and occasional cleanliness issues, particularly with trash and pet waste. Being torn down and rebuilding for the next year or more. Likely more than a year knowing how slow the city of Tucson works at fixing or repairs ANYTHING.
I’ll update this review once they’re done, I’m not holding my breath with what they have planned for the “upgrade”. They’re taking lots of the open space away for other amenities that I don’t find useful to Tucsonans like pickleball for example.

The signs says that it’s closed every week for maintenance, finding that hard to believe! There are nice shade trees, the benches are no where near them. There is also agility equipment but the grass/weeds need mowing and big holes filled in. And apparently nobody picks up after their dogs because there was poop everywhere, even in the fountain for dogs but it didn’t work anyway! Would not recommend.
