Harmon Field is a popular spot for dog lovers situated in Tryon, North Carolina. Located at 117 Harmon Field Rd, this area is well-known for providing open space for pets and their owners to enjoy time outdoors. Harmon Field offers an excellent environment for those seeking dog-friendly parks or pet-friendly trails in the Tryon area, making it an ideal destination for daily walks, play sessions, and pet socialization.
Though specific amenities for dogs—such as fenced areas, off-leash zones, or agility courses—have not been detailed, Harmon Field is appreciated by locals for its spacious grounds and natural beauty. Harmon Field is such a star in Tryon! The setting is beautiful with the mountains in the background, and there’s truly something here for everyone. The walking trails are peaceful, the river is relaxing to sit by, and the wide-open fields are perfect for a picnic or tossing a ball around. The playground and tennis courts are well kept, and the athletic fields host plenty of local games that make it feel like the heart of the community. Parking is easy, everything is clean, and it’s just a wonderful place to spend a day outdoors. A must-visit when in Tryon!
The playground is shaded with mature trees, it’s fenced in. There are bathrooms. Behind the playground there is a walking trail and a beautiful river, there is a little beach where kids can splash. You can find other access points to the river along the trail. The water is not too deep, and it’s slow flowing (at least in the summer/dry season), very refreshing. It’s a great place! There is also a store with snacks and ball fields. The playground is behind the sports fields. The hours listed on Google are wrong, it’s a public park and it’s open until dusk I believe.
Went for an equestrian show and it was a lot of fun. The setting is beautiful. Tryon is a great location. They could really do with an upgrade PAs. Just a speaker or two. You can’t hear what is being said by the announcer.
Harmon is one of the true gems of Polk County. A beautiful, well-maintained 40+ acre park with numerous amenities. Run, walk, play ball, shoot hoops, soccer, horse show rings, etc. the best! (and soon….a dog park!)
Fun park for walks. Well maintained. Trails and track are nice as is the river. Tennis courts and baseball diamonds, exercise prompting stations and pavilions located on the grounds as well. There is also a small playground. Horse events are held here by the local club.
