Discover South Riverwalk Park, a vibrant outdoor space located along the Delaware River in Trenton, NJ. Frequently described as peaceful and scenic, this park offers pet-friendly walking trails, shaded and unshaded paths, and great spots for enjoying the riverside breeze. With its close proximity to local landmarks and Trenton Thunder games, it’s a popular destination for families and dog walkers alike, who appreciate the park’s green lawns, natural beauty, and easy-going community vibe.
While not officially a designated dog park, pet owners enjoy dog-friendly hikes and walks along the riverside trails. There are plenty of benches for rest, shady areas on hot days, and accessible paved paths suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. The park is also home to playgrounds for children, unique sculptures, and picnic spots, making it a well-rounded option for those seeking a multi-purpose recreational area in Trenton. Please keep in mind that restroom access is typically through portable toilets, and the park closes 30 minutes after dusk and after Trenton Thunder home games.
Very lovely but under utilized park! There is adequate shade and nice playground. While it’s above the street level and river it’s handicap accessible. Nice views of the Delaware. Not sure about rest rooms but I did see several outhouses. Today I attended a latin music event hosted by Mercer County park. It was poorly attended though the artists were terrific! Not sure if perhaps whomever does the park schedule realizes the Sunday music schedule overlaps Sunday afternoon football?! GO BIRDS! 🦅 This might be the reason for the poor attendance today.
I had a wonderful time visiting this place! It’s peaceful, beautiful, and has a wonderful interior design. I loved everything about it! NB: there’s no bathroom
Amazing sculptures showing the history of Trenton. A great view of the Delaware river. The park is a bit littered though and I wish people would be more responsible about throwing away their trash. Parks are a collective responsibility.
Very nice memorial walkway with arches and rememberence plates on the ground. Beautiful views of the Delaware River from the upper level.
I’m from south Trenton so I am very comfortable walking around this park with my family people just chill yes people like to chill and smoke around there but they are not all over ( usually ) and they (usually )don’t mess with you if you just mind ur business.. but besides that my kids love taking a walk and stopping at the park in the middle then walking past Trenton thunder we love this walk. Nothing special but beautiful during a baseball game firework show.
