What an absolutely wonderful campground! Family owned and operated with so many considerations to campers available. Extremely clean campground, bathrooms and showers conveniently located in the center of the grounds, fire pits, WORKING, FAST WI-FI, nice hiking trails, and about 10 minutes to the NOC. Expedition Bigfoot isn’t far either. I will definitely stay here again : )

We had another wonderful stay here. We were at the top at a primitive tent site. The grounds are very well kept. The bathrooms were very clean. We did not have a reason to interact with the owners or staff but pre-stay communication was good and prompt. We intend this to be an annual ritual camping stay at the very least and hopefully more frequently!

We booked our site based on the location of the campground to what we wanted to do while on our trip. We were very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the campground was! Surrounded by nature, big sites, super friendly staff, and perfect central location for all the fun activities we had planned! My sister stayed in a cabin and it was great! Definitely recommend and will stay again!

We stayed four days and nights in our tent this September. The campground was beautiful, well maintained and spacious. There are spots for RVs and tents including electric and water. We were very happy that we could bring our dog along for the trip, and she enjoyed the many hiking trails steming from the campground. The staff are very helpful and kind. There is a small staff run general store at the base of camp with firewood, ice and other goods that one may need while camping. I felt very safe while staying at this campground, the staff routinely drive through the expansive campground on a golf cart to check on everyone and say hello. The bathrooms are very clean, with the toilets and sinks in one area, and shower stalls are all separate. The campground is close to everything that one could hope to enjoy in the Natahala national Forest, including hiking, rafting and scenic roads. We cannot wait to visit again! All photos attached were taken at the campground or the trails directly accessible from the camp!

Called the campground prior to reserving a site. I had never been to the area so I had some questions. We lost contact after a few minutes. I immediately received a call from one of the owners. That in itself meant a lot to me. They really care about their business and customers. From the time I arrived I was very impressed. I was met by some of the staff who were extremely professional and friendly. I was led to my site and was checked on multiple times during my 4 day stay. The bathhouse was the cleanest I can remember seeing in a campground. The entire property was in order and clean. The owners and staff were the most professional and friendliest I have encountered camping. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be returning to this campground. I highly recommend this place.

I’ll never look for another campground at Nantahala. This is the best one around. John has been super helpful and hospitable. I’ve been 4 or 5 times this year. The camp sites are beautiful, well spaced, and nice and far from the road. You can see the stars at night and enjoy the peaceful creek flowing through. Bathrooms clean, parking easy, showers hot 👌

Great spot near the Nantahala River and NOC! The campground is located about 2 miles north of the river put-in, so boating access was easy. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and though we didn’t use them, the showers looked nice as well. Some of the sites are a little close together if you’re used to more disbursed camping, but it felt typical for an established campground, and there are more private primitive sites on the opposite side of the creek. The camp store is still a work in progress, but they had firewood, ice, and other basics that you may need, and all of the staff/owners we met were incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend for affordable camping around the Nantahala!
