Went here after a long haul on apache trail. We got the combo appetizer, cheese steak sandwich and a cheeseburger with some cold beers. The food was amazing, tasty, and cooked perfectly 👌 the beers we so cold and refreshing. Our server was such a doll! She even helped us change a TV by us to get the game we wanted to watch. The dining room is separated from the bar, so the bar noise wasnt even heard from the dining. The bar sounded fun tho! Great atmosphere all around. Good people working there, they were all very friendly. We were obviously out of towners, but the made us feel like home. Can’t wait to go back!

If this is exactly what you are looking for, a country meal, along the highway, by a lake, basically a hole in the wall- look no further!
The food is pretty good and the prices are even better. This is a rustic, authentic, nobody knows about local, good grub place! Everyone is very friendly and nice and if you pay cash, you get a discount. It’s so authentic that their WiFi doesn’t work very well (haha).
This is a diner, so they survey diner food.
I don’t know what they think they sell but it isn’t worth what they charge.
I want to pay diner prices for diner food.
Instead they want the prices of a fancy restaurant.
The food tastes like diner food it’s not magical, no special ingredients… It the same taste you can get at home just less fresh.
You know they cook the bacon all in one batch and it sits on the flat top until someone orders bacon, we all know what sat bacon looks and tastes like.
I love the waitresses but that’s it.
Nothing else about this place is worth it.
This is why I hope more restaurants come to the area, I can’t stand that this and two others are the only places to eat.
You know anyone can serve diner food, it not special it’s like the basics of cooking …
Anyways I stopped going here. I can’t stand how much it costs for only two people to eat … This place is too expensive, not tasty enough for those prices. You have cheap food being sold at prices you would see from Mills Ave or some kind of theme park restaurant.
You all better hope some doesn’t let Denny’s or ihop know how many people live in this town how many spaces there are to build their restaurant because if somebody lets them know it’s a great way to put you out of business.
A Hidden Gem in Tonto Basin
Heading home from the White Mountains after an adventure on Highway 288, we were starving and decided to stop at Butcher Hook. This place is absolutely charming and quaint. Even though it was packed, we were seated right away and greeted by our friendly server.
The service was exceptional, and the food was even better. I had a double-patty bacon cheeseburger topped with an onion ring, and it was absolutely incredible—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fries were hot, crispy, and downright amazing.
If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping here. It’s a must-visit spot for a fantastic meal and welcoming atmosphere!
Nice place to stop when riding over Four Peaks. Had a different burger each time we went. Burgers and fries were really good. Better than normal bar food. Inside and outside seating available. And pets are welcome on outside patio.
