Really great spot for a quick overnight camping trip, or to backpack to. Shelters are well kept, the bathrooms are clean. No water available in winter, and it’s about 3/4 of a mile hike down to the shelters from the parking area.

No cell service. Every time I come here there are dogs barking in the distance, and they bark all night. Not a huge nuisance but a little annoying. Definitely a peaceful place to get away for a night or stop along the trail.

Excellent place for a boy scout troop to go backpacking with easy shelters. Cost 5 dollars per person per night via Penn dnr. Fire place in each shelter…4 person per shelter , bathroom 100ft away, fire wood shack close by ( firewood available for a donation).

Great spot for single night camping. The six small wooden shelters offer dry floors and a roof. One side is open to the elements but faces a large stone fireplace. Firewood is usually provided at a woodpile above the shelters. Real nice. There is an outhouse restroom building too. There are lots of choices for hiking opportunities nearby. Reservations are required from the Oil Creek State Park office.
