🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Thurmont Dog Park is a small, fenced-in area conveniently located at 804 E Main St, providing a simple spot for local dog owners to let their pets stretch their legs. While the space is not huge and amenities are minimal, it’s a dedicated dog-friendly spot in the heart of Thurmont, making it a handy resource for quick exercise or socialization for your pup.
Visitors have noted that the area is fully enclosed, offering peace of mind for owners letting their dogs off-leash. However, the park offers limited shade and amenities, so it’s best to prepare accordingly—bring water for your pet and be aware that seating and shelter are limited or absent. This no-frills dog park provides a great alternative to walking your dog along local pet-friendly trails if you need a secure, contained space close to home.
Definitely was a good place for my son to start practicing on his scooter before going to larger area skate parks
Tiny skatepark good for beginners and nobody else. Surface is not level, they claim to have a bowl without one present and kids are constantly waxing coping. If you live in the area it’s cool but I would not recommend driving out any kind of distance to skate here.
This is a sad little fenced in area with no shade. I’ve never seen a dog there in the 3 times I’ve been. I would not call this a park 😕
Gorgeous property! mini ramp is sketchy AFtho.. just needs a bit of maintenance ¯_(ツ)_/¯
An awesome little park. Really all you need to be honest and its super well done. I think the concrete company is also local, maybe PA? I thought that was kinda cool. A nice round bar and concrete box that are low enough to learn any trick. Decent space for speed/run-ups. The concrete is buttery smooth and no bikes are allowed which is the first time I’ve seen that. I guess its to keep mud off of the concrete? This would also be a great place to learn transition skills as there are different quarter pipe heights. The locals are really nice. I parked in the school parking lot across the road and walked over to the park as it can be a little confusing to access at first. Glad this is 25 minutes or so away from my house, such a cool addition to the local skate scene.
