I recently visited the Lower Hillsborough Wildlife Management Area and was thoroughly impressed by its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. This place is a true hidden gem for anyone who loves the outdoors. The trails are well-marked and offer a variety of landscapes, from pine flatwoods to wetlands, making it a great spot for both hiking and wildlife viewing.

The area is also home to deer, wild turkey, and other native wildlife, so keep your eyes open! It’s incredibly serene, and the lack of crowds made it feel like I had the whole place to myself.

What I appreciated most was how well-maintained the area is.

The staff clearly care about conservation and preserving the habitat. Whether you’re looking for a quiet hike, a place to photograph nature, or just an escape from city life, Lower Hillsborough WMA is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back!

I am very disappointed. So many positive reviews, but in reality, first, you have to search for the entrance because the address provided is incorrect. Then you encounter a strange parking lot and a weird entrance. The map is confusing, showing only numbers. You have to walk along a road with nothing around 🤷‍♀️. The signs are poor, and you have no idea when you’ll see anything other than the road. I do not recommend it.

Boat ramp is easily accessible. Easy to find. Beautiful land and very well kept. Restrooms were clean which is not common with public parks. Overall just a great day, great weather, and a new park to add to the family.. Thank you to all the park rangers for good upkeep of the property and appreciate all of you!
