If you’re searching for a dog park in Tampa, Florida that keeps both you and your pup cool year-round, Deputy Kotfila Memorial Dog Park is a top choice. Located conveniently under the Selmon Expressway, this park offers natural shade and protection from the sun and rain, making it perfect for hot summer days and unexpected showers. The park features artificial turf throughout, helping keep paws (and shoes) cleaner without the worry of sand, mud, or grass.
The dog park boasts large, fully fenced spaces for both small and large dogs, a rare find in the Tampa area. Water fountains are available for thirsty pups, and plenty of seating invites owners to stay and relax. Poop bag stations and trash bins help keep the park clean, though visitors note occasional lapses in user responsibility. Limited on-site parking is available, so plan accordingly during busy periods. With agility equipment and a friendly community, Deputy Kotfila Memorial Dog Park is a local favorite for off-leash play and socializing in downtown Tampa.
Pretty clean and everyone followed the rules. All of the dogs were pretty friendly as well. The water dispenser is a nice touch too. The only thing is I wish there were more tunnels and obstacles for the large dog side.
Amazing here! Great big park lots of space. Highly recommend coming here as much as you can.
What more could you ask for protection from the sun and rain !! Usually poop everywhere because people don’t any cares.
Poop bags and water with jumping platforms.
Love this dog park and so does my furbaby! We go often. Clean and easy to access!
Great park if you do t want to deal with sand, mud, grass, etc. It has all turf ground and plenty of space to run. The park is located under a bridge which gives it a natural cover from rain and sun. Only downfall is the water fountain that partially pours out water and no hose to rinse off poo on the turf. Sometimes a dog leaves remains of poo and it just sits there so watch where you step.
This park is great place to take your dog in the middle of summer because it is nice and cool! Always shaded from the interstate. They have a huge small dog park, which is unusual because usually online the large dog park is this big! Only downside is that parking is limited.
