Discover Takoma Park Dog Park, a locally loved off-leash dog park in Takoma Park, Maryland, nestled in a scenic, wooded neighborhood setting. This pet-friendly oasis offers a peaceful atmosphere, with plenty of shade and seating for owners while their dogs play and socialize. The park is known for its friendly community, well-kept grounds, and the bonus of occasional deer sightings in the surrounding woods.
Visitors appreciate the large parking lot, wheelchair-accessible entrance, and the clean environment ensured by responsible pet owners—plus the availability of poop bags. While there’s no separate run for small dogs or a water fountain on-site, the park’s spacious single area gives dogs room to romp, and the natural slopes are perfect for burning off energy. For anyone searching for a well-maintained, dog-friendly spot near Silver Spring or Takoma Park, this tucked-away gem provides a safe and enjoyable experience for dogs and their people.
Great dog park! Seems pretty well maintained and people pick up after themselves which is a plus! Only thing that would make it better would be a water fountain for the dogs. It is on the smaller side but everyone has been friendly. No separate space for small dogs though, if you’re looking for that.
My dog gives it five stars.
There are a lot of shade and sitting area here. It’s quite peaceful. The park is big enough for dogs to run around.
I’m not giving it 5 stars just because the park doesn’t have a water fountain but apart from that it’s great. It’s squeaky clean (at least in comparison with the majority of DC’s dog parks) there’re lots of toys, a slope where my dog enjoyed running around and plenty of poop bags. Another plus is that it has a big parking lot. I’ll definitely come back
My dog Scout is a regular. The park is smaller than nearby Ellsworth (Silver Spring), but it’s also a little more chill. We love the people and the dogs here, which is what keeps us coming back.
It’s a beautiful setting, nestled in a neighborhood, at the far end of a dead end street, surrounded by woods with the occasional deer sightings. Bring your own water (as the city/county hasn’t run plumbing/water lines out here since it’s tucked back in the woods, and know that there are no lights, so when the sun goes down it gets really dark, really fast.
