Went from crazy misbehaved pup to a completely tolerable little man. Lee and his team did absolutely amazing. I’m actually shocked at how well shadow is behaving and the commands he learned in just 3 weeks. It was supposed to be 2 but I had a gut feeling 3 would solidify things and I was right. They did amazing with training him and then giving me a lesson at the end to continue. Def worth the drive from nashville and very happy with the cost!! I had other local k9 trainers come to the house for a 1 week boot camp that was going to cost me ? and came with a lot of videos but I don’t need that. If that’s what I wanted I can go on YouTube free. The people at k9 Tn valley really put in the work and effort 24/7 and keep you updated. They also treat your dog like their own. They have their own dogs so you know they’re not like these weird cat people around here and actually care and follow through. Def recommend! 10 out of 10!
Lee and his Team has done a wonderful job with Roxie. She was so wild, wouldn’t listen, jumping, running away, pulling us down on a leash and now she’s a very well trained/behaved dog thanks to Lee we feel much better with her now and she can be with us more inside and on trips she’s very calm with our toddlers now she will lay around in the living room with them running around and she never moves she doesn’t run over our toddlers anymore knocking them down she doesn’t run after cars passing outside or other animals we couldn’t thank Lee and his team enough for the wonderful job he has done with her.
Lee and Tennessee Valley k9 were the best. Professional and curious, my dog worked with Lee for 3 weeks and came back a new dog. My dog is high energy malinois and I needed Lee to train him properly and he did. I can’t thank him enough!
Have you ever hesitated to write a review because you stumbled upon a hidden gem that you didn’t want to share with othersNULL That’s exactly how I felt after taking my dogs to Tennessee Valley K9. Our two Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies underwent a 3-week board and train program in April, and I’m excited to highlight our incredible experience.
We needed serious help with our two 6-month-old Ridgebacks, Hazel and Harley. They struggled with counter surfing, rushing to the door, jumping, rough play, potty training, and not listening. I’ve had dogs my entire life, but raising two puppies at once—especially two females from the same litter—was a challenge. I decided to seek the assistance of a trainer. After extensive searching on Google, reading reviews, and speaking to various trainers, I still wasn’t convinced. We decided to go check out Tennessee Valley K9 just to see the setup (which I thought as really cool by the way) and talk to Lee, the owner.
Once we met Lee and talked with him, we knew within two minutes that this was the right place for us. We felt extremely comfortable with him, and it was clear he genuinely cared about his work. We thought his 3-week board and train program was the ideal option, so we decided to enroll our pups. Although it was difficult to be away from them for three weeks, we knew it was for their benefit. Lee was excellent about sending us videos and photos almost daily, allowing us to see their progress. He also has his own dogs, who spent time with ours, helping them socialize and learn appropriate behaviors.
When we picked up our pups, I was amazed by the amount of time Lee dedicated to us—almost two hours! He showed us what they had learned, how to handle them, and the commands they knew, all to set us up for success at home. The transformation was astounding; I could hardly believe these were the same dogs! The changes they underwent in just three weeks were truly remarkable. It was worth every penny, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do the same in the future with other dogs.
However, I feel it’s important to set realistic expectations for anyone considering a board and train program. Your dog won’t come home as a perfect angel, following every command like a robot. While you can achieve that level of obedience, it requires a lot of dedication and time. What Lee and other trainers provide is a solid foundation to build upon. If you bring your dog back home and do not continue to work with them, you’ll be setting your dog up for failure. This is why Lee includes home visits in his program after completion.
When we returned home, we faced a couple of minor issues with Hazel. We reached out to Lee, and he came over to guide us through how to handle the situation. It turned out we were the ones who needed additional training, not the dog! Within just 10 minutes, we were able to resolve those issues and move on.
I want to express my gratitude to Lee for the exceptional customer service and the outstanding job he did with our dogs. Thank you for truly caring about your work and the effort you put into helping dogs and their families. At the end of the day, our dogs are members of our family, and we want the best possible care for them. I couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience!
Lee was great with our dog. He met all the needs and requirements for what we were looking for in training our puppy. We were so pleased with how quickly she was able to pick up and how comfortable she was with him. His great care, concern, dedication, leadership and communication was great. We highly recommend Tennessee Valley Training and would use them again if needed for a new pup or just a refresher course. Thank you again Lee we truly appreciate you!
