Ormand Spencer Park is a vibrant, dog-friendly park located in the heart of Syracuse, New York, at 1121 E Washington St. Well-known in the local community for its welcoming atmosphere and unique DIY skatepark, this space truly shines as a pet-friendly destination. Dog owners will appreciate the park’s clear division: one section is designed for small dogs under 25 pounds, while another accommodates larger breeds, making it easier for pets of all sizes to play safely.
The park is wheelchair accessible, has parking, and is good for families and children. While it is a favorite spot for locals and their furry companions, please be aware that trash bins are currently lacking—so be prepared to “pack it in, pack it out” for waste. Muddy conditions may be present after rain, so plan accordingly for playtime. Ormand Spencer Park stands out as a community-driven, dog-friendly place perfect for your next visit!

Hello,
I’m writing to bring attention to an issue at Ormand Spencer Park. While the park itself is a great space for the community, there’s currently no trash can available on-site. As a result, trash is being left on the ground, creating an unsightly and unsanitary environment.
Can the city please install one or more trash cans at this location? It would help keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
