Two nice loops along/around a stream; we did a figure 8. A little buggy! About 1.5 miles on my GPS.
Fun short hike well marked trail. Pugnuts ice cream is a great after hike treat! Had my kids 4 and up walked the whole trail no problem!
Beautiful trail! According to all trails app, there’s a 95 ft changing elevation along the hike. A few challenging foot bridges and narrow pathways, but overall difficulty is moderate.
It’s a very beautiful preserve. I enjoyed following the creek. The trail is rugged. Lots of roots and rocks.
The Maine Trail Guide said that it was an easy trail…and indeed it was not difficult…but it would not be for folks who have a cane or bad knees as the terrain is rather hilly in places and many roots as well. With that said…what a beautiful little hike! We hiked at a mild time in February, and the stream had plenty of flow to give the little rapids and waterfalls. You really can’t beat the Maine woods in winter for a beautiful hike! We will definitely be using this trail fairly regularly.
