Best kept secret in Delaware County..gorgous overlook ..50ft shale cliffs..20 min from our crib
Great place to view natural views and great hiking. Most people go to see the cliff overlook or the osprey nesting area. I sometimes sit and drink coffee with my wife looking over the water. There are also walking trails that are well maintained and very interesting.
Just walked the trail today and loved it!! A great cardio workout and nice trail. We walked 40 min in and then 40 min back and we could have went further so it’s a long trail. Very well marked to show you that you are still on the trail. We will be going back a lot! Loved it!
Amazing views from the trails. Although the trailhead starts in a large parking area it doesn’t take long to find out that the trails can be steep and narrow especially at the edge of the cliff. It is dangerous and there aren’t any rails for safety. The trails will also take you into a deep ravine that is also very scenic. There aren’t any amenities in the parking area or anywhere else nearby.
Beautiful views and challenging hiking for the area! There are several side paths taking you to views but can be slightly confusing if those side trails are part of the main trail or not.
Plenty of parking. Did not see any public bathrooms at the trailhead I went to.
Would recommend trekking sticks if you have them for some of the steeper climbs. You’ll be fine without them, but would make some stoney declines a little more safe.
