Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Olivia Terrace Walking Trail in Sun Valley offers a moderately steep, low-level fire road trail ideal for hiking, jogging, biking, and birdwatching. The trail is about 5 miles long with scenic views of Burbank and downtown LA. It features natural surroundings away from the city hustle, making it great for dogs (allowed off leash when not crowded) and kids. The trail is not wheelchair accessible and has limited shade and seating. Parking is available in nearby residential areas, but amenities like water fountains, trash bins, or agility equipment are not mentioned.
I go here often. Really nice view and for the most part clean. Very heavy of a walk which is fun and gets you working. Some parts here and there are dirtier and less maintained then the rest only reason it’s not a full 5 stars. Highly recommend if you’re in the valley looking for somewhere to hike!
Really nice trail. Clean, moderately easy and not crowded. I went on a Saturday and was able to let my dog off leash cause no one was around
1.1 mile hike to get to highest elevation. Trail keeps going but just small up and down hills after that.
Beautiful views of Burbank airport. Pretty steep trail. Didn’t make it to the 🌴 tree, but i plan to next time!
Great low level moderate fire road trail. Steep, but it’s a road, so not too difficult. It’s the kind of trail where you want to just keep going and you can.
It’s an out-and-back trail. They indicate it’s 5 miles. I made it 2.45 miles to where G Maps says there is another trail called Wildwood Fire Road trail. It may have been a passable trail at one time, but it is no longer traveled. I made a video of the entrance to this trail, which is all grass.
Nice views of Burbank. Of course, you can see downtown LA too. It was not a very clear day when I went, so not the best pics of the view.
Quite a bit of graffiti in the first 20 minutes, but pretty clean after that.
I went on a Sunday at 11am in January and it was not very busy. G Maps indicated it was busier than usual, but I saw maybe a total of 15 people for the 3 hours I was hiking.
I saw only one bicyclist, but I can see where it might be popular for bicyclists.
Parking in residential area. G Maps took me directly to the entrance.
Dogs are welcome, but I did see a coyote, so beware. Captured him on a video.
Lots of birds. Mostly black birds, but I did see a hawk. Got him on video too!!
After about an hour, you really feel like you’re far from the city.
Good steep trail. Walking sticks would be recommended for us over 50. Not much shade except for the hillsides as you come around bends.
