I did an easy mountain bike ride up the La Tuna Canyon fire road. Mid week it was farley deserted. From the parking lot to the top was a little over 3.5 miles and 1700 feet of climbing. So not an easy walk. Lots of views into La Canada and from the top down into Burbank.

If you’re into hiking, whether you are a beginner or an Intermediate hiker you will love this trail. It’s a steay climb to the top by the towers. You can hike to Burbank on the right or hike to Glendale to the left and end up in Brand Park.

I really like la tuna canyon. It has terrific views (once u reach the top) and different styles of paths you can take depending on your style of hiking or walking. I use this area for mountain biking and training for Spartan races.

This is a decent hiking area with close proximity to LA. I stuck with the La Tuna Canyon Loop but there’s lots of trail options all around. Watch out for some steep sections and the recent rains eroded some sections – sticking with the main road is probably the best option until repairs are done. There were a moderate number of other hikers and mountain bikers. Seems like a popular spot for the nearby neighborhoods. Lots of dogs!

I’ve been going to LA Tuna canyon for years. Glad to see they finally opened up more parking, so more folks could enjoy this exquisite canyon. It’s a great trail for hiking, running or mountain biking.
