This is a wonderful nature preserve and working farm. California is crowded and has too much traffic, but amazing places like this one can often be found a short distance away from the hustle and bustle.
I spent the greater part of Monday afternoon enjoying the serenity and beauty that is Rush Ranch. Great Day! My primary reason for the visit was to photograph the resident Barn Swallows. They were active and they were close enough for a few ‘cover’ photographs. This ranch will make a day glorious just being there. The ranch crew were very welcoming and polite. Five star. Are weekdays the best time to visit? Absolutely!
A nice and interesting place to spend a few hours. It’s a historical place with a few wind mills from late 1800s.
It has a few trails where you can run, hike or walk. It has a clean picnic area with several picnic tables, mostly empty.
What a beautiful spot for a walk. If you go early there are not that many people. Views are amazing and it’s an easy trail. You can make it as long or short as you like. Various ways around the property. Lots of wildlife. Ground squirrels and cows. Dogs on leash are allowed.
Super nice area for getting some fresh air. Love coming here to hike. Apart from the open space and nice trails it’s nice for wildlife viewing, if your patient. I do recommend wear a hat it’s mostly sunny and not too many trees for shade. This time I went I notice there was lots of mosquitoes so prep with mosquito repellent. Great for family walks and nice nature center. Otherwise it’s a really nice place for some Nature.
