Amazing place to walk or bike. The path is about 4.4 miles one-way and is marked each mile, with benches and sign posts pointing out areas of interest along the trail. It is paved and easy to walk, although the pavement has been breaking down and becoming more uneven in recent years. Still, the walk is easy and enjoyable. The CT river, Kings Island, and the canal itself bring so many beautiful sights and I’ve seen tons of different animals on my many visits. Towards the Windsor Locks end, there is a protected eagle nesting area and on some days if you keep an eye out, you can see bald eagles. You can walk/run, ride bicycles, and dogs are permitted.

The parking lot in Suffield is big enough to rarely be full to capacity. There is no charge for admission or parking, just park and walk.

Windsor Locks Canal State Park is a great spot for a day outdoors. The trail is perfect for walking, running, and biking, and its lack of road crossings makes it a wonderfully safe place for kids to ride their bikes.
The trail is also very dog-friendly. It’s a joy to see so many dogs out with their owners, and all are well-behaved and kept on leashes. While the ride isn’t particularly smooth and the path could definitely use some repaving, it’s still a very enjoyable route with no major obstacles.
For visitors, a great improvement would be to trim back some of the trees along the river. This would open up the beautiful views and allow everyone to fully appreciate the scenery. Overall, it’s a great park and a highly recommended destination for the whole family, including your furry friends.

Well, this is a spot that I know since some years ago, I never post anything because came here to get out of technology and life stuffs.

In this place you can do various activities, walk, run, hike or even fishing is allowed here.

The place it is really nice to disconnect and spend some time when weather allows.

I know they’re open from April to Nov, check dates to avoid any bad experience there.

I do recommend visiting thisnplace for a walk, hike, run or even fishing (check Deep website for licensing and rules).

A lovely experience to take a stroll after a nice meal. Very easy and paved trail to walk on. The entire trail is nearly covered or surrounded by greenery which was great for a summer time walk.
