South Weddington Park is a beautiful green space nestled in Studio City, California, popular with local dog owners looking for a peaceful alternative to busier parks like Lake Hollywood Park. Known for its lush landscaping, this park boasts well-maintained grassy areas, plenty of mature trees providing shade, clean walking paths, and a relaxing, family-friendly environment. Its location near Universal Studios and Fwy 101 makes it a convenient escape for a quiet dog walk or outdoor fun with your four-legged companion.
While not a dedicated fenced dog park, South Weddington Park welcomes leashed dogs and provides a pleasant setting for on-leash exploration. Amenities include a walking loop (with dirt and paved paths), picnic tables, seating, ample parking (about 60 spaces), restrooms, and plenty of shade—ideal for hot Los Angeles days. Dog-friendly hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the calm trails, while pet owners can enjoy the peaceful neighborhood atmosphere and regular maintenance of both grounds and facilities.
I love to bring my dogs to this park. It’s a low-key spot to bring your dogs on a beautiful day without much of the crowd. I live near Lake Hollywood Park, but that place is often very crowded and here I can enjoy the ambience and the park without many crowds to bother us. I liked the area around the park more. Quiet, beautiful, well-kept streets.
This park DOES NOT HAVE A PLAYGROUND. I brought my almost 1 yr old here thinking that it did according to my google search, and it was incorrect. The playground is 3 blocks away at NORTH WEDDINGTON PARK on Acama!
But, it was beautiful and green and fairly well-maintained. It had a baseball field and nice walking path with a few stations of low impact workout equipment. I wouldn’t call it a running trail because it’s a little small, maybe 10 times around would be a mile.
There were a handful or more tents along the street, but the street was very clean and no homeless were in the park when we were there.
Beautiful park near Universal studios and Fwy 101, this is the place for walking, jogging or just lay down and relax.
The park is quiet, clean and green, plenty of shade for hot days. There are about 60 parking spaces and a restroom here.
Friendly and quiet. Great place for quiet lunch or throw the ball around. There is also a dirt path along the perimeter of the park. Ideal for running laps! Also take your kids here.
