Lion’s Club Dog Park offers a dedicated space for pet owners seeking a secure spot for their dogs to exercise and socialize off-leash right in Streator, IL. Located at 820 James St, this fenced dog park provides an accessible green space with both mulched and grassy areas, mature trees for shade, and obstacle course installations for energetic pups. While the park does require membership for entry—requiring registration and a key—it is home to a friendly community of responsible dog owners.
Visitors note the park’s blend of amenities, including a water fountain for pets, agility equipment, and plenty of lighting from surrounding streetlights, making it suitable for early mornings or late evenings. While maintenance standards can vary and some report issues with cleanliness and muddy conditions after rain, Lion’s Club Dog Park stands out as a lively, dog-friendly spot. With metered street parking and proximity to family-friendly amenities like a disc golf course and playground, it’s a favorite for Streator’s pet owners looking for a safe, off-leash experience.

Its nice they have this park for the dogs but it seems very run down and poorly maintained. Water fountains were not working. Dogs had dug a hole under the fence which needed to be fixed. No one cleans up their dogs waste and there was a large amount of dirty old dog toys laying everywhere. Definitely needs someone who can frequently maintain it.
