Nice big park several ball fields but never anybody playing.
I especially liked the really big big BbQ cooker.
We got to visit with 3 of our grandkids and there parents! It was absolutely wonderful getting to visit with all of them!! Especially since it’s going to be a while before we get to see them again because we are moving to Georgia in 2 days!!
Well kept park with a nice walking path and multiple playgrounds for children. Pavilions can be reserved for events.
Beautiful place to walk your dog, unless there are sports going on, lucky if you can find a place to walk. People just park in the grass.
On the site of a former race track, Strasburg Park is now the gem of town parks in the region, a highlight being the 1.1 mile loop trail that meanders through large, old trees along the Sugar Creek on the eastern boundary. Stroll along the river or bring a folding chair and sit by the river with a book under the shade of a large tree. The western boundary is a rail line, and a train passes through around 4-6pm. There’s no shortage of ball fields here, around 10.
In addition to softball players, it’s common to see elementary to high school football practices, Latinos playing soccer, adult pairs playing tennis, and civic groups using pavilions. The park especially comes to life most days around 5pm-7pm.
On the northeast and southeast sides are two sizeable playgrounds.
Clearly, the Town of Strasburg cares about its park.
The photos include the lovely walking trail and also a very high river in early spring. The Dundee dam up the road controls the river.
