What a beautiful place. It is a private building.
There are some trails you can traverse going down to an unusual beach with many beautiful rocks.
Quaint little park with a lighthouse and large bell for tolling when the fog is heavy. Many paths through the woods are easily walkable but not for a wheelchair. The lighthouse residence is private.
The park features a lovely small beach area, perfect for walking along or relaxing by the water. There are several picnic tables with scenic waterfront views, all just a short walk from the parking lot. Two restrooms are conveniently located near both parking lots. While there aren’t any playgrounds, the park boasts well-maintained lawns where children can run and play freely. For those participating in the state park passport program, you can find the stamp near the loop parking lot area.
First time there in about 15 years. Nice they paved the road and parking area. Vice views. The fort is small earthworks. I think it would be nicer of they removed the brush so it can be seen better. The light house was nice and nice views. The day I went was cold and cloudy, but still nice place to check out.
Cute state park with a few hidden gems that could easily be missed if not paying close attention. Worthy of the very affordable entrance fee, but please take cash as it’s a self pay system. Please also remember to pick up after yourself and not leave boxes lying around. Lighthouse is beautiful as are the fort earthworks. The stroll to the pier is lovely even if the pier is under refurbishment. Only restrooms I saw was outhouse style, but that doesn’t bother us. Picnic opportunities looked lovely. Highly recommend and would stop by again. Check out our video on our experience on Hammocks to Coasters on YouTube.
