We were there the day of the Embree park community picnic.
It was like this had been done for years. Tickets, free ice cream, cracker Jack’s, and homemade lemonade in a huge crock just like my grandparent did.
Our family the Murphys was celebrating the 97th year.
Don’t know how many was there but cousins came from near and far. Great shelter, plenty of flat sitting space , bring your own chairs.
They had games that day as well.
Bale toss, foot races, for all ages, 3 legged race, bean game.
Open space to toss a ball with family.
Very peaceful place to sit and watch the traffic go by.
Open Dawn to dusk I believe.

Went there as a child for family reunions.
It’s really a nice area. The only downfall is they don’t have good restrooms. They use an outhouse, And porta potties.

Very nice & spacious for a family get together or reunion. Its a little secluded so no party crashers will be showing up unnoticed. Fantastic sunsets that ignite the photo worthy sky with hues of red, orange, yellow & pink throughout the changing seasons. Its as if the autumn leaves were tossed up to the sky leaving behind a stain of brilliant colors as a backdrop. Perfect for a romantic evening, picnic or backdrop for that memorable proposal of every girls dreams.

I think Embree Park is probably the prettiest park in Morgan County. We hold the Newsom family reunion there every August. It’s always a lot of fun for all ages.
