I’ve taken my golden retriever here three times for a full haircut, the first two times being a good experience. I brought him back for a third time since I liked the first two cuts; however, today his haircut seemed very sloppy and rushed (mainly around his ears). The bottom of both of his ears are cut past a natural point.

They say a full haircut will take 2.5-3 hours, but he was done in an hour today. I’m not sure if his haircut was rushed due to overbooking and time constraints, but it does not seem like the groomer was able to take their time today.

UPDATE to review: the manager was very considerate and followed up with me. This appears to be a one-off instance, which I would agree with considering my other two experiences. I appreciate the promptness in which the manager reached out to me. I would still recommend this location and grooming as the staff is very friendly.

Healthy Hounds has been a part of our extended family for a long time! We have relied on them for daycare for multiple dogs — all different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. No matter which dog, they’re always excited to go with their tails going at super speed!

The staff knows them by name, always gives them a friendly greeting, and seems genuinely happy to see them. I love that I can do drop-in daycare and choose between half- and full days, as well as come in early and pick them up after work hours if needed.

I always recommend them and will continue to use them for as long as we have dogs!

We decided to try out Healthy Hound Playground in Sterling a few weeks ago for our 4mo pup, Lilith. She’s a high energy puppy but has anxiety issues so we were a bit nervous.

I couldn’t sing higher praises for the Sterling team. They are phenomenal. They did a slow introduction, making sure she was comfortable with staff and, later on, a calmer dog before introducing her to the pack. We got an update call from the supervisor letting us know how everything went, how she was super confident and loved the other dogs. It made me so happy.

Staff keep up with her funky medication and lunch schedule, and I am confident she’ll be happy and healthy when we drop her off. She’s been twice and both times she runs up to all the staff for pets, which is unusual considering her fear of strangers. She clearly loves them. She comes home and immediately falls asleep from all the fun she has playing with the other dogs. It takes a lot to wear our pup out, but they do a great job.

We’re planning on purchasing a daycare package so she can start to go more regularly. The team handled her integration so well we’re considering regular grooming appointments to get her comfortable with that as well. Trust your fur baby is in good hands with Healthy Hound.

This review is way overdue. My dog has been receiving the Grooming (Spa) services from Healthy Hound Playground since he was young puppy (about 8 mths to a 1yr) and we have never really gone no where else.

All the groomers are amazing. However, we routinely see 2 of the groomers who have spoiled him tremendously. He knows them like family and has become accustomed to the services associated with the process.

I have before and after, take a peek. Most recent shows before and after, the other shows from when he was younger. I am always so impressed! And he loves his time there.

Thanks to the crew and especially the Groomers at HHPGS.

I do not recommend this facility for boarding. I entrusted them with my senior dog, Winston, for approximately one week. In that short time, he lost 10 pounds. When I picked him up, I noticed later that evening that he was having difficulty breathing. I took him to the vet, who found crackling sounds in his lungs and diagnosed him with pneumonia.

If the staff had been attentive and noticed that Winston was losing weight or showing signs of distress, they should have contacted me immediately. Had I been informed, I would have arranged for my son to pick him up right away.

Given his age and the sudden decline in his physical condition, any chance of successful treatment was greatly diminished. His immune system was severely compromised by the extreme weight loss in such a short period, which ultimately made it impossible for him to recover.

Just before his stay, Winston had received a full physical. Aside from some arthritis typical for his age, he was in good health. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his condition, I was faced with the heartbreaking decision to euthanize

I had previously posted a review but took it down after the facility offered me approximately NULL,000. At the time, I accepted and removed the review—but I did so while I was in a very vulnerable place: grieving, distressed, and unemployed.

After some reflection, I chose to tear up the check. I realized that no amount of money could justify what happened. I am speaking out again because I want justice for my beloved dog, Winston. Knowing that he suffered for an entire week while in their care is devastating, and I feel a responsibility to warn others.

RESPONSE TO HEALTHY HOUND PLAYGROUND:

I believe 100% that you were responsible due to neglect, and not paying attention!

You offered me money to take down my reviews in regards to my post on Yelp and Google! I can see that you did the same on other reviews with people blaming that they asked you for money.

Your response to my post is nothing but lies!

The symptoms started the same day I picked him up from your daycare! When we took my dog to the vet, he was diagnosed with a respiratory infection that ended up being Pneumonia and due to his dramatic 10 pound weight loss within seven days he was in very poor Body condition to continue treatment and how dare you say that you would have paid for treatment after I euthanized him!

The only kind thing you did is pick us up and take us to the vet since I didn’t have my car at that time and for that I am thankful!

If you intended to pay or help with paying for treatment, you should’ve told me that right away, and not after the fact when it was too late so for that, shame on you.

The vet told me even though if I would have spent thousands of dollars most likely he would have died anyways, and I did not want my dog to continue to suffer!

You even called my Vet to inquire on private health information to which you had no right! That is unethical and right down criminal!

All you do is respond negatively and offer money to remove posts! It’s almost criminal what you are doing.

My dog was in good condition and good health before I dropped him off with you and within 9 days he lost 10 pounds and contracted a respiratory infection that ended up turning into pneumonia.

My vet will attest to his condition and that he was in good shape for being a senior and again he was 12 years old and Weimaraners can easily live up to 15 years.

Shame on you!
