Located in the heart of Sterling Heights, Sterling Heights Rotary Park offers a welcoming green space perfect for families and their canine companions. With its wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, this pet-friendly park is easy for everyone to enjoy. While renowned for its play structure and scenic wooded views, the park is also celebrated for offering pet-friendly trails and a relaxed environment for dog owners in the Sterling Heights area.
Rotary Park features amenities like picnic tables, a floating dock, and unique grassy hideaways—making it an appealing spot for those who love both outdoor activity and a bit of relaxation. While dogs are allowed at the park (leash rules apply), it’s not a designated off-leash dog park and there are no separate fenced dog areas. Its proximity to the Clinton River attracts kayaking enthusiasts, but dog owners will appreciate plenty of natural shade and picnic options. If you’re searching for a dog-friendly park in Sterling Heights, Rotary Park delivers a casual pace and plenty of space for both pups and people.
If you love kayaking, this is a great park to get out of the water with your kayak. About a four hour kayak from Clinton River heritage park.
nice little hideaway spot to chill but it is not cleaned/kept up well by the city whatsoever. the entire patio was covered in bird feces. (picnic tables, the ground, the actual structure itself)
Nice park with the floating dock but be warned!!!
You have to drag ur kayak or canoe 100yards or so from where u get out to the parking lot.
They have this neat set of rails you put your kayak on and pull it up the hill.
I love this park It’s not so huge like the Dodge Park as far as the parking goes and I’m okay with that. My kids love the playscape here I love it too It’s different It lets them exert and get out so much energy and they had a blast when I went there was just literally another mom and her kid there we all kept our distance but we were all communicating and being safe This is my go-to park and my kids love it.
The play structure is for children 8+. My 2 and 3 year old played and climbed up it. I had to stay right below them. It’s very close to the road also. In the back is a scenic view of a wooded area. It’s ok if your only spending a hour there but definitely not recommend to plan a day there.
