Gorgeous hike. Signage and blazes aren’t the best, make sure to pay attention to surroundings and that you’re on the right trail, especially if you’re trying to get to princess falls lol. More intense than expected, but overall very worth it.
Beautiful falls easy hike but was very muddy the signage was also not great. Cute little falls along the path and it was fun to hop along the rocks to cross the water.
If you have a pup bring some towels!
Beautiful trail to hike! Princess falls is 1.4 miles from the parking lot, just beyond the wooden bridge (not over it). There’s been very little rain so the hike was relatively easy, but I advise wearing tennis shoes as some spots could be slippery in wet conditions. Also, the parking lot is only able to hold 6 or 8 cars, so arrive earlier in the day!
We weren’t sure exactly where it was, so we only got to the smaller, not the princess falls on the way to the falls. More out of ignorance than ability, so trail is squishy, but doable. And it was gorgeous.
This was a great and inexpensive family adventure. The hike was very nice. The trail only has a few small inclines, none more than 20 yards or so. The trail did get narrow for a little way, partly due to downed trees that had been cut away. We seen several people walking their dogs and several families with small children along the way. The area we live in is naturally beautiful and this is no exception, if you enjoy being outdoors and taking in the beauty of our forest environment this is a must. The trail does have some muddy spots in it but they weren’t bad most of them can be avoided. At the junction of lick creek the trail isn’t clearly marked and I was expecting that from other reviews, I think the reviews made it more confusing. The trail is straight ahead, never crossing the wooden bridge, and it is up a short hill. The trail trough that part is quite narrow. If you go down to the water below the falls it is quite steep but it’s not much bigger that climbing down a step ladder, and has “steps” made. My family enjoyed it so much, we will definitely be doing that again.
