Kenwood Dog Park offers a spacious, pet-friendly escape in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida. Known for its large, fenced areas specifically designated for both small and large dogs, this park gives your pup plenty of room to run, romp, and socialize safely off-leash. Shaded seating, picnic tables, and a variety of mature trees provide a comfortable environment for owners, while your dog enjoys the freedom of the thoughtfully designed space. Local dog lovers appreciate the sense of community here, with friendly regulars and ample opportunity for playtime.
In addition to the dedicated dog spaces, the park features covered and uncovered benches, water stations (though sometimes in need of maintenance), and accessible shell trails perfect for pet parents who love dog-friendly walking or jogging. Restrooms, playgrounds, and other amenities in the larger recreation area help make it a convenient destination for families. Be aware that the park sits beneath a highway overpass, which can create some noise and traffic sounds. Despite occasional litter issues, Kenwood Dog Park remains a popular spot for locals seeking a pet-friendly outing in St. Petersburg.
My dog loved this park. Very spacious. I’d say the only downside for some people is the noise from the highway above. I didn’t have a problem getting my dog to hear and see my commands. There is a separate small and large dog area. Lots of shade. We’ll be back if we are passing through.
Atrocious dog park! It is very filthy and not well kept. There are buckets of stagnant water just laying out. My dog took one small slurp before I could stop him and that’s all it took for him to become extremely sick later that night and cost me an emergency visit to the vet. Seriously this is unsafe for people’s pets! Whoever is in charge of managing this place is doing a pitiful job! There is trash and stagnant water all over the place. God only knows what kind of bacteria and diseases are in it. I will never go back here again. It’s too noisy here as well because it’s right underneath interstate traffic, dogs can’t even hear you call them.
Great big park 50-200′ wide and 100′ yds long.
Lots of seating areas. A regular local keeps up on filling water jugs and puts them around at sitting areas.
It’s a bit loud because of the overpass. But it’s got lots of friendly locals.
You can hose your dog off before you exit.

This dog park is pretty conveniently located close to where I live. So it gets extra points for that, but its not my favorite spot to bring my dog. It has a lot of space for them to run around in so that’s a big plus. However its located under the highway and can be a bit noisy which can bother my pup sometimes. That and there is usually litter lying around somewhere as well. So its not the cleanest dog park either. Overall the people I’ve ran into there are great though and again its got a lot of space for them to run in.
Large play areas for both small and large dogs. Plenty of picnic tables and benches for seating. Covered areas and trees for shade. Not many waste bag stations or watering stations and watering stations were dirty & barely working. Loved the dog murals!
