Located in the heart of St Louis Park, Minnesota, Dakota Dog Park offers a welcoming space for dogs and their owners to enjoy a day outdoors. The park features a fully fenced area for your pups to run and play off-leash, making it one of the most accessible dog parks in the area. With separate areas designated for large dogs and for smaller or older pets, it ensures a safe and fun environment for all sizes and temperaments. Trees offer shade across the park, and picnic tables let you relax while your dog makes new friends.
Some notable amenities at Dakota Dog Park include a water fountain, plenty of seating, a conveniently located parking lot, and paved walkways for easy access. Families will appreciate the nearby shaded pavilion, playground, and adjacent baseball fields, making it a great destination for a full day outdoors. Waste stations and poop bags are available to help keep the park clean. While the park can get quite busy, especially on weekends, its central location and pet-friendly trails make it a beloved spot for local dog lovers in St Louis Park.
Large fenced in area with tables and water bowls but not much else. When we came here, it was VERY CROWDED. Definitely not a good park to bring a shy or nervous dog to.
Compared to other parks, it’s just OK. On the smaller side of what I’ve seen. And there is no water inside the dog areas, you have to walk down to the regular park area to fill up jugs.
But the biggest issue is just the dogs we run into. It’s not the parks fault. But there are just too many poorly socialized dogs going here. To the point we can’t just relax and let the dogs play. Bit disappointing really. It’s also poorly lit at night. Which for fall and winter is really bad. Since it starts to get dark around 6 if not sooner.
It was very conveniently located, but we had no idea it was there. There are separate off-leash areas for big dogs & small or older dogs. There are trees & plenty of space. It looks like there is a supply of poop bags, just in case. It has its own parking lot & a paved walkway.
They have a drinking fountain! Also they have a Pavillion with picnic tables, a baseball field, walking trails, and a playground. Playground includes slides, regular swings, baby swings, individual spinning rides, and more!
New 1st time pup parent here and he had a blast!
The park is large enough for pets to have their own space and it has a closed off area for baby pets and ones that’s aren’t too social.
We love it
