Queeny Park is a popular outdoor destination and dog park in St. Louis, Missouri, offering a scenic mix of pet-friendly trails and recreational amenities for families and dog owners alike. The park features well-marked hiking paths, wooded areas, open fields, and a dog park area—making it a favorite spot for those seeking dog-friendly hiking and outdoor adventures close to the city. Accessible entrances, paved paths, and ample parking make it easy for everyone to visit.
What sets Queeny Park apart is its unique blend of urban convenience and natural beauty. Dogs are allowed, and the park’s network of trails and picnic spots attracts both casual walkers and serious hikers. Visitors can also enjoy playgrounds, picnic tables, barbecue grills, clean restrooms, and accessible parking, making the park a go-to spot for families and pet lovers. Whether you’re hiking solo, letting your pup explore, or enjoying a family day out, Queeny Park offers a peaceful escape just minutes from local shops and neighborhoods.
It’s usually got a pretty good amount of foot traffic but it still feels like you’re in the woods it feels more like hiking than just going to a normal Park and there’s lots of other things to do there such as the dog park the main playground is being rebuilt I don’t know if there’s other ones it’s a very big Park
A park so near to homes and shops’ embrace,
Yet woods gave way to fields and open space.
Dog parks, storage—wild vibes now confined,
Once a seclusion where nature’s heart shined.
Still, I’m grateful for this green retreat,
A cherished spot where memories meet.
The city has destroyed much of this iconic park…claiming to be putting in a more modern cookie cutter design. But this is what Manchester seems to be doing yo all their parks. Just makes is have to go further for our kids and grandkids, to find good parks that don’t have cities destroying them.
Queeny Park is one of my favorite places to hike in the St. Louis area—beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect mix of nature and accessibility.
The trails are well-marked and offer a good variety, whether you’re in the mood for a leisurely stroll or something more brisk and hilly. You’ll find paved paths, wooded sections, open fields, and even a few scenic overlooks. It’s especially gorgeous in the fall and spring!
There’s plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and spots to rest or picnic along the way. Bonus points for being dog-friendly—my pup loves it just as much as I do.
Whether you’re hiking solo, meeting a friend for a walk, or just looking to get a little movement in, Queeny Park delivers a solid outdoor escape close to the city.
