This is a great location to start on the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail, it is especially beautiful during the fall time! I highly recommend this trail, if you are looking to bike a long distance, walk, or run. It is very clean, and the scenery is very nice traveling through St. Charles and then through Swan Creek 🚴♂️
The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail is just an enjoyable ride through the canopy of trees that cover the trail. There were plenty of places to take rest if needed. This trail also connects to the Thomas trail which goes north about 2.8 miles which makes the combination of both trails 27.6 miles. In the fall this would be a wonderful leaf peepers color tour. St Charles is a quaint town with small stores to shop in to find unusual things you might not find elsewhere.
We will definitely be taking this rail trail again soon.
