Located in the Thurston neighborhood at 1500 Mallard Ave, Gamebird Park is a small, well-maintained public space that’s welcoming for dogs and families alike. With expansive grassy areas, mature shade trees, and benches scattered throughout, this dog-friendly park in Springfield, Oregon, provides a serene spot for local pet owners to walk their dogs, relax under the canopy, or take a brief stroll on paved paths. Though the park does not feature a dedicated fenced dog area, many visitors enjoy walking their dogs here—especially during times when school is not in session.
The park is known for its community vibe, play structures for kids, basketball court, a small skate park, and bike playground, making it a destination for those seeking both kid and pet-friendly activities. Please note that the park has no restroom facilities, no designated parking lot (street parking is available nearby), and no covered shelters or picnic tables—though you will find plenty of open space and natural beauty. Pet owners are reminded to bring bags for waste cleanup and be mindful of local rules to help keep the area clean for everyone.

Amazing food for lane county youth farm. We felt lucky to be a part of their farm fest.
Cute park highly recommend.. If your going to picnic there are no picnic tables. If there were tables I would’ve given 5 stars. 👍
The park itself is in okay condition, but I don’t like that there is a road that runs along the whole park. Its not the best for younger kids that don’t know not to run into the road.
Cute little park. Summer lunch program happens at this location. Lots of local dogs do lots of poo makes playing and picnics gross. Lots of garbage. Occasional drug usage and needles. Best to have adult supervision.
