We have really enjoyed walking our pups around this bog, with its trails. We also enter at the dead end of Fair Oak. We backed off this spring (2015) as we were picking up a lot of ticks. Also they recently posted no trespassing signs, so not so sure it should be called a park. They do NoT want motorized vehicles in there. The area is protected wet lands. It can be approached by driving through Gates of Heaven cemetery & heading for the field & woods to the left.
The more I use it, the more I appreciate this wooded area. It can be a bit buggy, but it also has that quiet away from the city people are looking for. Good for running, and close enough to be a decent walk.
I have lived next to this conservation area for 40 years and never get tired of taking a walk along the trails. You can easily spend an hour or two before you cover all of it. It seems like a fairly safe area.
Nice walk in the woods. Reminds me of my childhood. I was always out playing in the woods.
