If you’re traveling near Springfield, Colorado, the Springfield Truck Stop presents a convenient option for dog owners seeking a quick rest. Located just off US-287, this stop isn’t a traditional dog park, but with its expansive gravel parking lot, it provides some space where your pet can safely stretch their legs on leash. Pet owners will appreciate the pet-friendly atmosphere and the availability of basic amenities such as clean restrooms, a well-stocked store, and friendly staff.
Travelers mention this is a popular stop for truckers and RVers, and the large, free parking lot is a plus, even if the lot conditions can at times be unpaved or rutted. While you won’t find classic dog park features like dedicated fenced areas or agility equipment, the Springfield Truck Stop is a safe, reliably clean, and accessible spot for those journeying through southeastern Colorado. Looking for a quick pit stop with your pet or just a peaceful break out on the open road? This spot has you covered.
Big lot for parking. Not in the best condition, but safe. Super clean restrooms, the well-stocked convenience store. Employees are very friendly. Yes I will stop there again.
Just on time with my ELD. Winter could be worse because unpavement but summer is good
Cute little place kinda in the middle of nowhere. Definitely serves lots of truckers. The parking lot is pretty rutted from all the trucks, but the store & restrooms were clean and well stocked
This place was sketchy. I didn’t like having to leave the Checker my License and CC card to go out and Fill my Car. Very very run down. If you used your imagination you could see at one time long ago it was a pretty nice truck stop. Will be avoiding it next time.
Huge gravel parking lot big enough for our 43′ 5th Wheel RV & long bed dually truck but NULL.25 for diesel?! Seriously?! Talk about a rip-off! Wanted to use our credit card at the pump but it says we have to go inside 1st if we want to use the pump. What’s the point of having a card reader outside at the pump if we still have to go inside then?
But on a different note…the deli items they had were a very welcome site. Fresh & actually tasted good! That was pretty much the only positive thing we found.
