Dictionary Hill Hiking Trail offers dog lovers and outdoor enthusiasts an expansive, pet-friendly space in Spring Valley, California. With numerous scenic trails, rolling hills, and panoramic views of San Diego, this park is a local favorite for sunrise and sunset walks. It features miles of hiking trails catering to various skill levels, plus plenty of open areas and shady spots along some routes, making it ideal for hikers and their pups.
Dog owners will appreciate the enclosed, gated dog park section, providing a secure place for off-leash fun and socialization. The dog park offers separate areas for small and large breeds, agility equipment, trees and umbrellas for shade, and a water fountain with a dog bowl. While there are some grassy expanses throughout the main park, the dog park itself is primarily sand and may lack grass. Seating is available, although shade can be limited and water/waste stations may be positioned outside the main enclosure. Ample parking, restrooms, and additional family-friendly amenities such as playgrounds and sports fields are found nearby, making this dog park a well-rounded destination.

Lovely trail with magnificent views of San Diego from the top!!
Sweet and short hike. Many trails to explore with the family. Imo one of the best places to watch the sunrise and sunset in San Diego County.
Good views and a little hiking.
